A Model for Integrating Psychedelic Experiences

CIIS CALIFORNIA INSTITUTE OF INTEGRAL STUDIES
Co-led by Julie D. Megler, NP-BC, and Mary McDermott, LMFT. Mary and Julie provide a working understanding of Integration that helps participants understand more deeply their own experiences of Integration. They walk participants through a therapeutic model of Integration and teach principles and practices that follow the arc of evolution and build on each other through the body, heart, mind, spirit, community, and earth.

Intro to Integrating Psychedelic Experiences
INTERN TRAINING PROGRAM
HOLOS INSTITUTE
Students in the Holos Training Institute learn what integration is and what it means to integrate a psychedelic experience beyond the moment. The 3 session class provides an overview of methods of patience, choosing well, setting intentions and how to prepare the mind, heart, and body to potentiate and promote healing, insight, and growth beyond the experience.
CIIS Graduate Program
CIIS CALIFORNIA INSTITUTE OF INTEGRAL STUDIES
Mary and Julie teach annually in the Psychedelic Therapy and Research Certificate program at CIIS. They are honored to be the first to be designated to teach solely on the crucial topic of Psychedelic Integration.
The program trains skilled therapist researchers who will ideally seek advanced training for future FDA-approved psychedelic-assisted and entactogen-assisted psychotherapy research.
Integrating Psychedelic Experience
Julie and Mary guide the group through experiential meditation, art, journaling, and ritual in addition to practical discussion throughout this day-long integration process. Drawing upon their wisdom as licensed clinicians, plant medicine experiences, dietas, and spiritual practices, Julie and Mary teach participants how to work with shadow material and develop skills to meet uncomfortable emotions with openness.
